Pet Doors
Do you need a pet door installed for your cat or dog? Foley Glass can help!
We at Foley Glass specialise in installing pet doors in glass and can install them into any glass panel for almost any type and size of dog. We will need to replace your existing glass with toughened safety glass with a hole cut out in the glass for the pet door. Pet doors in double glazing are also available.
Dog doors and cat doors can be installed in most glass windows and glass doors. Call us to discuss where you would like to install a pet door and we can provide you with a quote over the phone.
After arranging an appointment with our glazing experts, it’s an easy three-step process:
- Our experienced glazier will come out and measure the existing glass panel and confirm the location of the pet door opening on the first visit.
- We then work on creating your custom-made toughened glass panel, made to fit your space and your chosen pet door.
- On the second visit, the glazier will remove your existing glass and install your custom-made toughened safety glass panel. They will then install the pet door into the new glass.
We supply two different pet doors for dogs; one for small to medium sized dogs and one for large dogs. We also supply a cat door option. Flap opening sizes are provided below to help you determine whether your pet will fit through the pet door. If you supply your own pet door, we can install this for you at a cost. Please make sure that the pet door you supply is designed for glass.

There are different types of glass for different purposes. Here we have included the most common types of glass and why we recommend and only use toughened glass when installing pet doors.
Toughened glass:
We use this type of glass for all of our pet door installations. Toughened glass is about 5 times stronger than ordinary float glass which makes it far more resistant to breakage. Even with the addition of a hole for your pet door, it does not affect the strength of the glass. The hole is made in the glass before the toughening process and once toughened it cannot be cut or changed so we need to make sure we have the right size glass and hole. This is why we need to change your glass even if you already have toughened glass.
Laminated glass:
Is an A grade safety glass which is acceptable to use in and around doors to meet safety standards but once a hole is put in this glass it is weaker and cracks could appear from the hole from standard use from your pet.
Float glass:
This is the most common type of glass and tends to break into large, jagged shards of glass. It can be dangerous for children and pets. In most situations using this type of glass would not comply with Australian Glass standards for a pet door.
